Partnership Agreement between the Capital Markets Authorities in the Mediterranean Countries - Sunday 9/11/2008

CMA is studying the partnership agreement between the capital markets authorities in some Mediterranean countries like, Algeria, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, in order to exchange experiences and information on the professional and practical level.

The partnership shall harmonize the regulations of capital markets in these countries and shall as well facilitate the process of listing the companies and support the flow of funds, which in turn creates an attractive environment for foreign investment. It is expected that the partnership shall introduce common financial products that can be traded in the Mediterranean Markets.

The agreement shall include training programs for employees working at the Capital Markets Authorities in the Southern Mediterranean. These programs shall be set in coordination between the Capital Market Authorities in the Mediterranean Countries.

Accordingly, this agreement shall be a step towards the Union of the Mediterranean Capital Markets Authorities and shall be an opportunity to strengthen the role of the Egyptian Capital Market Authority globally through its partnership with other strong entities which have the experience and market information.
