CMA Issued Proposal Regulation on Contracts Exchange for comments - Sunday 17/8/2008

In the framework of the CMA efforts to achieve its strategic goals which include the development of the Capital Market and the introduction of new financial instruments and tools which will increase the efficiency and the activity of the Market, the CMA issued proposal concerned with the amendments of the provisions of the executive regulation of the Capital Market law no.95 of 1992. The amendment includes the addition of a new chapter concerning regulating contracts exchange.

Along with CMA experts, number of legal and technical experts from the market institutions and other foreign experts has participated in the preparation of the proposed amendments.

The aim of establishing the contracts exchange is to increase the ability of the investors to hedge against the risk of price changes and to forecast the market prices and to facilitate and stimulate dealing on the assets that are being contracted.
