The Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority has issued decision No.64 of 2007 to organize the works of the approved sponsors of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's). The decision allows the companies licensed by the CMA to exercise the activities of financial consultation, securities promotion and underwriting, participation in securities issuing companies and the relevant capital increase, joint venture capital and direct investment funds to provide the approved sponsorship service to small and medium enterprises. The license shall only be obtained after submitting the required documents to the CMA.
An approved sponsor shall provide consultation and advice to SME's during the phase of completing listing procedures at the Nile Stock Exchange for Small and Medium Enterprises, during the central registry procedures and during private or public offering of shares in addition to assisting companies in complying with the Nile Stock Exchange disclosure and listing rules.
